Cranberry Lake Soap :: Eagle River

Yesterday in searching for cool Wisconsin items I came across a small soap company from my home town of Eagle River, Wisconsin called Cranberry Lake Soap. I was really interested to find this because I've never heard of it but my next trip to the Northwoods I am going to have to stop in the new shop they are opening in May. All items are to be natural and handmade, I am super excited to try this! Check it out!

Poblano Chile Cheese Enchiladas

So after a very LONG day ~I was up at 3:30am to take my sister to the airport and then went to work~ I still wanted a healthy, home cooked meal. To me cooking is mostly pretty relaxing so this was a great way to end that the day!

I got the recipe for Vegetarian Times (click the pictures to go to the link). I did make a few modifications to the recipe though, I swapped out the New Mexico chilies for a few Chipolte chilies in Adobo, I used low fat Mexican blend cheese and lastly I added some refried beans to them. They were awesome!!! I hope you enjoy!

Makin the sauce!

Cuttin the veggies!

Blending the sauce. All I can say is, immersion blender... BEST TOOL EVER

Where the Wild Things Are

Matt and I watched this movie about a week ago and it turned out so good it inspired me to create something! Enjoy!

Where the Wild Things Are

Vegan Dinner - Oh Yeah

This turned out really yummy and it was healthy, colorful and vegan! Sautéd mustard greens, garbanzo beans, stewed tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and some chipolte blackened tofu... so good and good for you, even the husband really liked! I will have to make this one again!

St.Patrick's Day Green Beer!

Havin a green beer! Not sure if the picture does it justice or not but it is REALLY green!

Brews Days :: St.Patrick's Day

So, it's St.Patrick's Day and I was going to make some vegan "green" velvet cupcakes for the occasion but life got in the way and I have some out of town visitors this week (my sisters that are twins and have a touch of crazy in them)..... SO that didn't quite happen! But I thought I would give a quick list of beers I have had and would recommend out on St.Patrick's Day! Seeing as though I work at a brewery we will probably sample one or two as well! Enjoy!

All Dogs Go To Heaven :: Mya

Our lil Mya, our first boxer died yesterday. She was always a very sweet girl. We are all very sad but she did live a long, happy and healthy life for a boxer and pasted away from old age. If you are a pet owner you understand the heartbreak that happens when you lose a pet. Here are some pictures of her...

Movie Time!

So, I've had a rather lame weekend since Matt was out of town (and took the computer with him) so I was playing a movie association game (again lame since it was just me)... but the goal was to watch movies that had connections between one actor/actress to the next movie. Here are the movies I have watched so far, can you guess the connection??

BrewsDay :: Grand Teton Brewing, Bitch Creek ESB

This week's beer tasting was Grand Teton Brewing from Jackson Hole, Wyoming's Bitch Creek ESB. I've seen this beer here and there and was assuming part of the deal with the beer was the gimmicky name but I finally gave in and gave it a try. This is also the first non Wisconsin beer I'm posting about.

What they say about it "Bitch Creek perfectly balances big malt sweetness and robust hop flavor for a full bodied, satisfying mahogany ale. Like the stream for which it is named, our Bitch Creek ESB is full of character... not for the timid."

What I have to say... I think it was pretty good. I've had many an IPA but I can't recall if I've had an Extra Special Bitter. I liked the slightly hoppy yet malty characteristic about it. Very drinkable and not too heavy. I would even say I almost got a bit of a rye note from it, which I did happen to like!

Wood Home Items

I love these great rustic home pieces!!! Thought I would share! Enjoy!
