Fun Valentines
This year I was in a crafting type of mood and made my own Valentines.... each one was a little different from the next. I guess that's how I roll. This what I came up with!! Happy Valentines Day!!!! ♥
Double Chocolate Vegan Cupcakes with Fresh Strawberry Icing
I got this great vegan cupcake recipie online. This was sort of a birthday/Valentines day treat for my husband as well as co-workers. For some reason at the brewery we have a strange (in my opinion) tradition that the person who's birthday it is, is the person to bring in the treats, but hey whatever! They seemed to be pretty much a hit and I know Matt & I really enjoyed them! Yum!

Hotel Biba :: West Palm Beach, Florida
So after all of the snow we got and my oh so lovely drive to work this morning (I think I have spent like 4hrs in the car in the last 24hrs... anyway) I thought another warm destination vacation dream hotel was in order. I've never went but after seeing this hotel featured on Great Hotels with Samantha Brown several years ago, I have always wanted to go... Enjoy!

Snowy Day Dinner
Just another day in Wisconsin, with lots of snow flying (some 10-16" of snow) and the roads as fun as can be (I'm kidding)... so after a long drive home a meal of hot tomato soup and grilled cheese was in order. Yum!

Winter is Back Again
Right now it is flurring out and then I heard on the radio on my drive to work that there is going to be a Winter Storm Warning starting at midnight and then over the next 24hrs we are going to get something like 6-12" of snow... fun! Here is a picture Matt took from the first snow fall this year.

BrewsDay :: Cabin Fever Honey Bock by New Glarus Brewing Company, New Glarus Wisconsin
This week's beer tasting was Cabin Fever Honey Bock by New Glarus Brewing Company, New Glarus Wisconsin. New Glarus Brewery is most notably known for their Spotted Cow beer and is widley available throughout Wisconsin and beyond. The Honey Bock is listed a Seasonal release.
What they say about it "This classic style in a brighter direction than the traditional dark German Bock. Cabin Fever is a 'Helles' or Pale Bock with a golden color and lower strength than the German Style Dark Bock. This Pale Bock is brewed with an exclusive blend of Wisconsin Pale and Caramel Malts that balance seamlessly with a unique Lager Yeast and European hops."
What I have to say... I think it was simply "ok". The flavor started off with a bright, sweet honey character but then ended in a crisp and almost sharp note that reminded both me and my husband of more of an American Style Lager (aka Budweiser). This beer is drinkable and is probably enjoy to most however I can honestly say this just isn't my type of beer and I was rather disappointed. The packaging is simple, clean and in line with the other packages done by New Glarus.

ALoft Hotel :: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The new Aloft Hotel (a vision of W Hotels) is now open in Milwaukee located downtown, on Old Third World Street. I'm dying to head down to ALoft for either a cocktail or even for a weekend getaway. Here is a sneak peak!
